In a written statement from Gazprom, it was stated that the company produced 378.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the 9 months of the year, an increase of 17.3 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
It was stated that during this period, the company's gas exports outside the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) increased by 15.3 percent compared to last year, reaching 145.8 billion cubic meters, and gas supply to the domestic market increased by 15.9 percent. It was reported that Turkey increased its natural gas exports by 138.8 percent, its exports to Germany by 33.2 percent and its exports to Italy by 14.2 percent.
Emphasizing that Gazprom continues to deliver gas to Europe according to its contractual commitments, the statement said, "Gazprom supplies gas in line with existing contractual commitments and consumer demands. The company reserves delivery capacities on the basis of demand and opportunities for optimization of the capacity portfolio." Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitriy Peskov also said in a statement on September 28 that they are closely following the developments in the European spot natural gas market, "Gazprom is currently exporting to Europe at close to record levels and fulfilling its obligations completely, even a little more." Due to the recent increase in natural gas prices in Europe, some European officials accused Russia of reducing its natural gas supply.
