Export of scrap from Ukraine increased

Export of scrap metal from Ukraine increased by the summer.

Export of scrap from Ukraine increased

Exports of scrap metal from Ukraine in May amounted to about 21,000 tons, up 31% compared to the previous month and 16.6% compared to the same month last year. Exports for the first 5 months amounted to 77,500 tons, increasing by 2 times compared to last year.

It is expected that in 2023 the export of scrap metal from Ukraine will amount to 150,000 tons, and the collection may reach 1 million tons. Steel production in the country this year may reach 6.05 million tons, and in the first five months - 2.4 million tons.
