Dönmez, who explained that Eti Maden was established as Etibank during the Republican era, stated that Eti Maden's revenue has increased both domestically and internationally, especially in the last 20 years, by processing boron into secondary and tertiary products.
Emphasizing that Eti Maden is the world leader in the boron market and their goal is to reach a 5 billion export level, Dönmez said, "I would like to express my gratitude and remembrance to all the managers and employees who have been involved since the beginning, including those who have passed away among us. In Eti Maden, we have undergone a change in vision, especially in the last 5 years. When we used to sell this product as ore, which was predominantly the case in the past, we gained the opportunity to increase its value by 8-10 times when we transformed it. We raised it to $1000, $1200 per ton. Our future breakthroughs will no longer be limited. The market volume we can reach here is certain. We are the world leader. Last year, we had a production of around 2.5 million tons and an export of $1.3 billion. If we add up the global market, it is $2 billion. If we sell to the whole world, our market will be worth $2 billion. But $2 billion will not be enough for us anymore. We need to increase Eti Maden's export target to at least $4-5 billion in the medium term. For this, we need to produce finished products from boron, as well as intermediate and end products. We also need to invest in areas like the rare earth elements that we have recently discovered."
