The international rating agency Fitch stated in a report in April that Egypt is the largest steel producer in Africa and the second-largest steel producer in the Middle East and North Africa region.
Egypt's steel production capacity will remain stable and reach 9.8 million tons in 2022. Egypt's steel production is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 1.5% over the next decade, and mining exports are expected to reach $10 billion annually by 2040.
Additionally, the metal and mining industries of countries in the Middle East and North Africa region will also accelerate in the next decade.
