During the meeting, investment opportunities offered by Egypt’s green energy projects were discussed, and a cooperation agreement was reached to encourage Spanish firms to invest in the region. Spanish officials highlighted the hydrogen production potential in Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone, emphasizing that the European Union is set to introduce new incentives for the sector and that Spain aims to strengthen its role by enhancing port infrastructure.

Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El Khatib, met with Spanish Hydrogen Association President Javier Bray Sanchez and association members to discuss hydrogen production investments in Egypt. The discussion focused on the country’s commitment to expanding its green energy initiatives. Minister El Khatib reaffirmed Egypt’s readiness to support Spanish companies entering the Egyptian market and emphasized the goal of forming strong partnerships in this field. At the end of the meeting, it was agreed that several association members would visit Egypt to assess existing investment opportunities and engage with industry stakeholders.

Spanish Hydrogen Association President Javier Sanchez highlighted Egypt’s competitive cost advantage in hydrogen production within the Suez Canal Economic Zone. Officials also noted that the European Union plans to introduce new incentives for hydrogen production, while Spain aims to enhance its port infrastructure to strengthen its role in the sector. Additionally, the meeting covered Egypt’s economic policies aimed at attracting investors and facilitating foreign trade.
