The largest industrial companies of 2023 were shared with the public at an event held at IzQ Innovation Center. EBSO Chairman of the Board of Directors Ender Yorgancılar announced that 82 of the 100 largest industrial enterprises reported profits. However, according to inflation-adjusted data, sales and profits in production decreased, he said.
According to EBSO's data, the largest industrial enterprise of last year was Star Refinery. Tüpraş İzmir Refinery ranked second and Petkim Petrochemicals ranked third. Evaluating the issue, Yorgancılar stated that there was no change in the top 10 in the list compared to the previous year. Yorgancılar stated that the effects of high inflation, increasing costs and the suppression of the exchange rate are reflected in the data. He stated that due to inflation adjustment, financial fragility indicators have improved and the share of equity capital in assets has increased. He also emphasized that the sectors that export the most continue to be the largest importers, and that high interest rates negatively affect financing expenses.
Izdemir and Kardemir are in the top 10
Among the companies following the top 3 were İzmir Demir Çelik (İzdemir), Philip Morris Tütün, Abalıoğlu Lezita Gıda, JTI Tütün, Abalıoğlu Yağ, Ravago Petrokimya and Kardemir Çelik.
