Within the scope of the 'Demir Yumruk' investigation conducted in 29 Ankara-based provinces in which 29 suspects were arrested, 8 defendants detained in the 3rd case with 136 defendants against the Melih Karabacak group were released so that they would not be victims because the place and residence addresses where their companies operate were in Kahramanmaraş as the epicenter of the earthquake was Kahramanmaraş.
APPEAL FROM THE REPUBLICAN PROSECUTOR, ARREST WARRANT ISSUED
The public prosecutor appealed the court's decision to release him. The Ankara 36th Heavy Penal Court, which evaluated the objection, stated that the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK) did not include the grounds that the detention of the defendants due to the earthquake would cause victimization and decided to re-arrest the defendants by saying, "If the contrary is accepted, it will result in the release of not only those whose residences are there, but also all the arrested defendants who are registered in the population in the earthquake region." An arrest warrant was issued for the arrest of the defendants. In the superior court decision, it was also pointed out that the defendants' defenses were taken by the court and the evidence was not collected.
