DAMAGED IN THE EARTHQUAKE
During the earthquake, many of the containers fell or slipped due to the strong shaking. The fire, which was triggered by the earthquake, was extinguished on 13 of the February. In the fire, 3 thousand 670 of the 5 thousand 400 containers burned in the hail area. It was determined that the damage conditions of the containers that were overturned due to the earthquake will be determined separately, and that approximately 1,730 containers burned with the loads inside. In the meantime, work continues intensively in order to return to the loading and unloading operations as soon as possible after the fire disaster at Limak İskenderun International Port Management.
It is stated that the empty container door exit operations of the companies with empty containers in the port have been started, and after this is completed, the overturned and damaged containers will be spread over the stock area and re-stacked and damage assessment studies will begin.
It is aimed to start full container door exit and unloading operations at Limak İskenderun International Port in March. It is also among the information given to the sources that after the clarification of the stacking and counting processes and the full containers are transported to the area suitable for inspection, the port will be contacted for planning, and that the port entrance requests will not be complied with except for the planning.
It is aimed to start the ship unloading and loading operations within 3 months at the port, where the works are carried out meticulously.
