Demand from China to Russia to increase the amount of electricity

China applied to Inter RAO, Russia's largest electricity generation and distribution company, and demanded that the amount of electricity it would supply from there be doubled.

Demand from China to Russia to increase the amount of electricity

China has asked Russia to nearly double the amount of electricity it will receive. Aleksandr Panin, Board Member of Inter RAO, the only company authorized to export electricity in Russia, told reporters that China applied to the company to increase its electricity supply.

Stating that they supply about 285 million kilowatt-hours of electricity to China per month, Panin said, "They demanded 555 million kilowatt-hours per month. Almost twice as many demand for November and December, and we will meet almost all of it. We hope to provide record levels of electricity to China this year. " said.

The power outage in many parts of China, especially due to the problems in the supply of coal, affects life negatively.

Russia's electricity exports to China last year decreased by 1.3 percent compared to 2019, falling to 3 billion kilowatt-hours.
