Demand for EU steel quotas varied across countries and products

According to SteelRadar's latest assessment, EU steel quotas recorded different data for each country and each product. In hot rolled coil (HRC), Turkey and the United Kingdom were weak, while South Korea and India recorded higher demand.

At the HRC, South Korea filled 92.05% of the quota allocated to the country

South Korea realized the highest filling of the EU allocated quotas for hot rolled coil (HRC). The country used 171,236/t of its initial quota of 186,030/t, while the remaining utilization was recorded as 14,794 /t.

India used 96,604/t of its 297,900/t quota. The remaining quota amount was recorded as 201,296/t.

Of the 469,183/t quota allocated to Turkey, 63,926/t, or 13.62%, was filled.

South Korea had the highest quota utilization in CRC

Of the 94,425/t quota allocated for South Korea, 32,858/t was used. The remaining quota amount was recorded as 61,567/t. The United Kingdom, which saw less demand in HRC, filled 33.74% of its quota with 29,441/t utilization in CRC.

Moldova was the most demanding country for rebar

Among the 3 countries including Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey in EU quotas, Moldova achieved the highest utilization rate and outperformed the demand.

While 6,879/t of the 28,333/t allocated to Moldova was used, 5,763/t of the 33,900/t allocated to Bosnia and Herzegovina met the demand. While the highest quota was allocated to Turkey with 94,233/t, Turkey filled only 3,765/t of this quota.
