Decrease in Türkiye manufacturing industry Capacity Utilization Rate

The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye announced the manufacturing industry Capacity Utilization Rate data for December 2023.

Decrease in Türkiye manufacturing industry Capacity Utilization Rate

According to the results of the Economic Tendency Survey conducted with the participation of 1735 workplaces in the manufacturing sector, the Capacity Utilization Rate (CUR) decreased to 77.3 percent in December, adjusted for seasonal effects. This represents a decrease of 0.2 points compared to the previous month.

According to the statement made by the CBRT, the Capacity Utilization Rate (CUR) not adjusted for seasonal effects decreased by 0.5 points compared to the previous month and reached 77.5 percent in the same period.

These December data show that activities in the Türkiye manufacturing industry sector have slowed down somewhat. However, a generally high Capacity Utilization Rate indicates the soundness of the economy. According to the CBRT's statement, these data were collected with the participation of 1735 workplaces and evaluated through the Economic Tendency Survey.
