Daido Steel announced that it has started selling DHA-GIGA, a hot-work casting mould steel suitable for the GIGACAST method, from September 2024. Developed for the first time in Japan, this steel increases the life of ultra-large casting moulds while decreasing the risk of cracking during use compared to conventional mould steels.
DHA-GIGA will first be introduced in the Chinese market where the GIGACAST method is active, and then the supply system will be developed in Japan and other regions. The company targets annual sales of 26.8 million USD by 2030. The GIGACAST method simplifies the production process, reducing the number of parts and reducing the weight of the car body. With this innovation, Daido Steel aims to contribute to industrial development and meet the needs of society.
