Construction production in the European Union (EU) decreased by 1.8 percent compared to the previous month in August, when the new type of coronavirus (Kovid-19) measures were softened.
The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) has published seasonally adjusted construction production data for the EU and the Eurozone for August.
Accordingly, construction production in the 19-member Eurozone decreased by 1.3 percent in August compared to July. Construction production decreased by 1.6 percent compared to August 2020.
In the EU, construction production decreased by 1.8 percent in August compared to the previous month and by 1 percent compared to the same period of 2020.
Among EU countries, the highest increase in construction production in August compared to the previous month was measured in Portugal with 2.4 percent, Slovakia with 1.9 percent and Poland with 1.6 percent.
The highest decrease was determined in Sweden with 10.5 percent, Hungary with 5.9 percent and Germany with 3.1 percent.
