In the financial report for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2018, which concluded in late February, Commercial Metals Company (CMC) announced a decline in profit compared to the previous quarter. This decrease can be attributed to the construction of smaller steel mills and the acquisition of certain assets of US rebar from Gerdau.
During this quarter, CMC's net revenue amounted to approximately US$10 million, which was a decrease from the US$30 million generated in the previous quarter. However, the sales revenue for this quarter was around US$1.1 billion, showing an increase from the US$860 million achieved in the previous quarter.
