CholoroPlant, part of Macron LC Group, announced that it has signed an agreement worth approximately USD 17 million with Singaporean clean energy investment firm H1Hydro Group for the design, construction and operation of a 10 MW green hydrogen plant in Sarawak.
The plant, the first phase of which is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2026, will be built using modular technology for optimized efficiency and scalability. European advanced electrolysis technology is planned to be used in the plant, and discussions are ongoing with companies in Korea and Malaysia for hydrogen storage and transportation technologies.
The plant will be supported by the use of renewable energy sources, particularly hydropower, in line with Sarawak's aspirations to become a clean energy hub, and plans to boost global decarbonization efforts by becoming a major producer of green hydrogen at competitive production costs.
