According to data compiled by SteelRadar analysts from China National Bureau of Statistics, China's welded steel pipe production decreased by 6.8% in September 2023 compared to the same month last year, while it increased by 5.2% compared to August.
Looking at the January-September period of this year, welded steel pipe production increased by 11.1% y-o-y to 48.19 million tonnes compared to the same period last year.
In the 9-month period of 2023, the highest production was 6.03 million tonnes in June. Last year, the highest production was recorded in September with 6.19 million tonnes.
In 2023, the lowest production in welded pipe production was in July with 5.21 million tonnes. Last year, the lowest production was 4.81 million tonnes in January.
