China's iron ore imports rose 7.4 percent in June compared to the same period a year ago, according to customs data released on Thursday, thanks to strong demand from local steelmakers.
China, the world's largest consumer of iron ore, imported 95.52 million mt of iron ore last month, just below the 96.18 million mt imported in May.
China imported 576.14 million mt of iron ore in the first half of 2023, an increase of 7.7 percent compared to the same period a year ago.
