According to information compiled by SteelRadar from the National Bureau of Statistics, China produced approximately 144.8 million tons of HRC in January-August 2024, up 3.2% compared to the same period last year. CRC production also saw significant growth during this period, reaching approximately 31.1 million tons, up 9.1% on annual basis.
Despite the growth in the January-August period, there was a slight decrease in production in August compared to the same month in 2023. HRC production in August decreased by 3.7% on annual basis to 18.1 million tons, while CRC production decreased by 6.3% to 3.8 million tons.
However, both HRC and CRC showed improvements in August compared to July, with HRC production increasing by 1.6% and CRC production increasing by 6.5%.
