According to China's state-owned steelmaker Baosteel, the Chinese government will limit steel production this year in order to achieve its goal of zero growth in carbon emissions for the next two years.
Baosteel General Manager Wu Xiaodi stated that this year's steel production will not exceed last year's level. He also stated that the limitation will start in the October-November period of 2023 and there will be a decrease in volumes.
