According to the information shared by NBS (Chinese National Bureau of Statistics), China’s crude steel production was recorded as approximately 92 million tons in June 2023, up 0.5 percent compared to June 2022. Pig iron production is about 77 million tons per year; steel production, on the other hand, increased by 5 percent year on year to 120.1 million tons.
In the first half of 2023, China's crude steel production is 535 million tons, up 1 percent year on year; Pig iron production was recorded as 451 million tons, up 2 percent year on year. Steel production, on the other hand, increased by 4.4 percent year on year and reached 676 million tons.
