According to data from the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC), China's coal imports totaled around 45.8 million tons in August, down slightly by 0.8% from the previous month but up 3.4% y-o-y. The total value of these imports reached around USD 4.368 billion, up 6.9% y-o-y.
In the first eight months of this year, China’s coal imports amounted to approximately 341.6 million tons, an increase of 11.8% compared to the same period of the previous year. However, the economic value created by these imports decreased by 2.5% on an annual basis, falling to 33.96 billion USD.
