China's Ansteel reports a decrease in operating income in the first half of 2023

China's Ansteel Group reported an operating income of CNY 58.83 billion in the first half of this year, reflecting a year-on-year decrease of 16.3%. Additionally, the net loss attributable to shareholders amounted to CNY 1.346 billion, in stark contrast to the previous year's profit.

During this period, iron production amounted to 13.22 million tons, steel production reached 13.83 million tons, and material production was 12.62 million tons. These figures represented an increase of 0.72 percent, a 2.44 percent increase, and a 0.35 percent decrease, respectively, compared to the previous year.

Additionally, steel product sales totaled approximately 12.79 million tons, reflecting a 1.95 percent decrease compared to the previous year.
