According to World Steel Association (WorldSteel) data, world crude steel production decreased by 4.7% in July 2024 compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 152.8 million tons.
According to these data, China ranked first among the ten countries ranked in global crude steel production. The country has maintained this position since the beginning of 2024.
China produced 82.9 million tons of crude steel in July, reaching a total of 613.7 million tons in the January-July period. The July figure was down 9% from the same period last year and the January-July period was down 2.2% from the same period last year. At the same time, it was down by about 9.5% compared to June.
Even though the country is making a big difference to other countries in terms of production, it was the second country with the second largest y-o-y decline.
