The company is currently in negotiations to purchase more copper concentrate, iron ore and alumina resources. The company believes that due to the current scarcity of these raw materials in China, it is crucial to have sufficient resources.
"China Minmetals will take action to develop metal and mineral resources that are insufficient domestically to meet the demand for the development of the national economy," said Lui Lijun, General Manager of Minmetals' Strategy and Planning Department.
China Minmetals expects sales revenue to increase by up to 16.5 billion US dollars this year compared to last year. In addition, Minmetals will continue to develop its overseas investments to secure its resources.
