Chinese steel company Baosteel, part of Baowu Group, announced the start of a new carbonless steel sheet mill project in Zhanjiang Iron and Steel.
The company plans to install a 220-tonne electric arc furnace with a capacity of 1.8 million tonnes per year, a 220-tonne ladle furnace and a CCM for casting 2150 mm wide slabs. It will be possible to use both reduced iron and scrap metal as raw materials in the business.
