Champion Iron, a Canadian mining development company, has recommenced railway operations connecting its Bloom Lake mine to the Port of Sept-Îles.
The railway service was temporarily halted on June 6 due to forest fires that took place in the northern region of Sept-Îles, Quebec. With the recent containment of the fires and minimal damage to the railway, operations have gradually resumed.
On June 10, the first shipment from Bloom Lake to the Port of Sept-Îles was successfully transported via the railway since the interruption. Despite the temporary suspension of the railway service, the Bloom Lake mine remained operational.
