This appointment comes at a time when the European steel industry is facing critical challenges, including trade pressures, the threat of deindustrialization, and a surge in steel imports. In recent weeks, Cazorla actively participated in key institutional events, including the Strategic Dialogue on Steel chaired by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, as well as the visit of Internal Market Commissioner Stéphane Séjourné to Celsa’s facilities.
Following the announcement, Cazorla stated: I would like to thank the members of EUROFER for this appointment, which I accept with a deep sense of responsibility and a firm belief that we are at a pivotal moment for the future of our industry. My goal is to work collaboratively to address the most pressing challenges and to ensure the sustainability and competitiveness of our sector, by defending the interests of all steel producers and promoting strong actions to halt deindustrialization and loss of competitiveness.”
