In August, Canada produced a total of 5.27 million tonnes of iron ore concentrate. This represents a decrease of 3.3% compared to the previous month, July. However, from a larger industry perspective, Canada's iron ore production is still quite impressive.
Iron ore producers operating in Canada increased their shipments in August. They shipped a total of 4.26 million tonnes of iron ore concentrate, an increase of 13.7% compared to July. However, there was a 10.9% decrease compared to a year ago, i.e. August 2022.
Ending stocks of iron ore concentrate decreased from 8.69 million tonnes in July to 8.18 million tonnes in August.
