The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has launched an anti-dumping investigation to examine whether rebar imports from Bulgaria, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates are being sold at unfairly low prices in Canada.
The investigation follows complaints filed by ArcelorMittal, Long Products Canada, GP, Gerdau, Ameristeel Corporation and AltaSteel, all leaders in Canada's steel industry.
The CBSA is expected to issue a preliminary ruling on this investigation within the next 90 days.
