"Bright World of Metals" in Düsseldorf from 12 to 16 June 2023

Changes across the entire value chain for industries do not lag behind global foundry, metallurgy and heat treatment technologies. How can businesses produce sustainably and efficiently? How can they better connect their facilities, optimize their production processes while maintaining their social responsibility? What fundamental technological changes are taking place in the various branches of the metal industry? How do foundries and metalworking industries remain attractive employers for professional talent compared to other industry sectors? These and other questions will be discussed by industry experts at GMTN 2023, the most relevant international communication platform.

Georg Kehrer, Global Portfolio Director of Friedrich- Messe Düsseldorf GmbH; “Our trade fair quartet is known as the gateway to the world market. Only here in Düsseldorf, decision-makers, experts, suppliers and users in these sectors can get a complete overview, exchange ideas and design trends for the markets of the future, at not one but four trade fairs,” he explains.

GIFA

The 15th International Foundry Trade Fair GIFA builds on a long tradition in the Düsseldorf trade fair portfolio. It has played an important role in the industry since 1956 as a global communication platform. It scored in 2019 not only with the best results (980 exhibitors from 46 countries, around 45,597 trade visitors from 127 countries), but also with a real fireworks display of innovations. The event then focused on mega-themes such as “Additive Manufacturing” and “Industry 4.0”. GIFA 2023 also includes foundries and smelting plants, refractory technologies, machinery and equipment for molding and spade making, mold sands and mold auxiliaries, sand preparation and reclamation, runner and feeding, casting machines, knock-out, cleaning, finishing, mold and mold making, control systems and automation, environmental protection and waste removal, as well as information technologies.

METEC

Equipment for the production of ferrous, steel or non-ferrous metals will be presented alongside equipment and components for steel casting or forming lines, metallurgical plants and rolling mills or steel mills. With more than 17,820 visitors (66% of international origins) and 618 exhibitors from 39 countries, the latest METEC also posted record results.

THERMPROCESS

Technology trends and solutions revolving around the production and operation of industrial furnaces, heat generation plants and thermal processes provide visitors with the highest level of knowledge. The product range of the fair includes industrial furnaces, industrial heat treatment plants and heat treatments, equipment for special uses, components and equipment as well as other materials, occupational safety and ergonomics. In the last halls of the fair, 5,923 sectoral visitors, more than 50% of whom came from abroad, and 337 exhibitors from 34 countries were hosted.

As the world's leading casting trade fair, it has had positive results every four years. (2019: 3,404 visitors, of which 67% are of international origin, 433 exhibitors from 32 countries). Casting applications range from vehicle manufacturing, aerospace industries, including medical device technology, to machinery and plant manufacturing.

The quartet of international trade fairs GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS and NEWCAST accompany a multi-faceted program of side events consisting of numerous seminars, international congresses, symposia and lecture series.
