According to the data, low demand from the US negatively affected Brazil's pig iron exports. In April 2023, Brazil's pig iron exports fell by 51.3% m-o-m to around 213,000 tons.
Exports in this period were mainly to the United States, South America, Europe and Asia, with around 141,000 tons exported by the state of Minas Gerais, 36,000 tons by the state of Espírito Santo, 34,000 tons by the state of Pará, Maranhão and 2,000 tons by the state of Mato Grosso do Sul.
