Brazil is maintaining dumping measures on cold-rolled stainless steel plate from China. This is stated in a document published by the local foreign trade secretariat of the Brazilian Ministry of Industry (Secex/MDIC).
The Brazilian authorities accepted a complaint by local supplier Aperam Inox América do Sul SA that imports of these products between April 2018 and March 2023 had harmed domestic production. Accordingly, a countervailing duty of USD 629.44 per tonne will continue to be imposed on cold-rolled stainless steel sheets 0.35-4.75 mm thick, under HS codes 7219.32.00, 7219.33.00, 7219.34.00, 7219.35.00 and 7220.20.90.
These measures will be in effect for five years from May 27. The dumping measures were first imposed in October 2013 and have undergone several updates since then.
