Borusan EnBW Enerji, a subsidiary of Borusan Group, signed a contract with Nordex Group for Wind Turbines. The agreement in question includes the delivery of 14 N163/5.X turbines with 80 MW capacity and 108 meters hub height for Pelit Wind Power Plant (RES) and 6 N163/5. It covers installation and maintenance.
Nordex Group will supply a total of 116 MW turbines for Borusan EnBW Energy's Pelit Wind Power Plant and Balabanlı Wind Power Plant 2nd Capacity Increase projects. It is known that the two projects will reduce carbon emissions by approximately 247,000 tons on an annual basis and 169,000 households will obtain their electrical energy needs from sustainable sources. The delivery and installation of turbines for the agreement, which aims to reduce carbon emissions, is expected to start in March 2025. The third quarter of 2025 is planned for the power plant to be put into operation. The agreement also promises to cover 10 years of Premium Maintenance service for the turbines.
Within the agreement, six N163/5.X turbines will be delivered and installed for the 36 MW 2nd Capacity Expansion of the existing 61.4 MW Balabanlı Wind Power Plant in Tekirdağ. Afterwards, 14 N163/5.X turbines will be delivered and installed for the Pelit Wind Power Plant Project in Sivas. One of the two projects, Pelit Wind Power Plant will utilize the "Advanced Anti-Icing System" to reduce ice formation on turbine wings.
