The Memorandum of Understanding signed between the parties aims to offer low carbon steel to end users in search of sustainable metals and to increase the supply of decarbonized steel products in Europe.
Under the agreement, Blastr will have access to Vogten's refining facilities in Maastricht. Vogten is logistically located at a strategic point in terms of river, rail and road transportation and has recently invested in its second production facility, significantly increasing its capacity. With the completion of the new lines, Vogten's two plants will have a total production capacity of over 1 million metric tons per year on a total area of 72,000 m².
CEO of Blastr, Mark Bula, stated: “This collaboration with Vogten Staal demonstrates the strong growth in demand for high quality, decarbonized steel in Europe. We are proud to be working with a key player that shares our sustainability vision.”
Dennis Vogten and Jack Papen, owners and board of Vogten Staal, commented: “We are very pleased to join forces with Blastr. As one of the largest scale service centers in Western Europe, adding Blastr's low-carbon products to our portfolio will allow us to offer more sustainable solutions to our customers and contribute to the green transformation of the industry.”
