BHP Group produced 74.29 million tonnes of iron ore at the WAIO in October-December last year. It was above $18-19/ton in the first half of the fiscal year until June 30 and peaked all year round.
The firm achieved an average purchase price of $85.46/wet metric ton (wmt) fob at Port Hedland in July-December from $112.65/wmt in January-June and $113.54/ton in July-December 2021.
The average received price of BHP was 81.1% of the average ICX in July-December, up from 80.7% in January-June, although most of its shipments were linked. It fell by 83.1% in July-December 2021 and by 86.2% in January-June.
BHP's 50% share of Vale-BHP Brazil joint venture Samarco's production increased from 2.08 million tonnes in the same period in 2021 to 2.24 million in July-December.
