Azerbaijan metallurgy opens to African market

Azerbaijan metallurgy opens to African market

Baku Steel Company (BSC) CJSC, the leading metallurgical company in the Caucasus, signed a contract to supply products to the African continent for the first time in the history of the industry.
The first customer was the Republic of Senegal, where the steel pipes will be exported. This is a remarkable event, because now BSC products are sold in more than 20 countries of the world, including America, Eurasia and Africa.

Azerbaijan's strategic geographical position allows the country to realise its export potential, and BSC is actively working towards this goal.

The company has a modern steelmaking furnace manufactured by Siemens VAI with a capacity of 550,000 tonnes per year, which has no analogues in the CIS, Turkey and Iran.

BSC is constantly improving its export policy, sending products to both nearby and foreign countries. The company co-operates with world leaders in its field, such as Demora, Danieli, Vezzani, Air Liquide and CVS.

Besides its export achievements, BSC is one of the largest taxpayers in the non-oil sector of Azerbaijan.
