Australian steelmaker BlueScope Steel said on Monday (17th August) that it was planning large-scale layoffs due to downsizing at its New Zealand plants in Otahuhu and Glenbrook.
The firm said it had suffered a full-year operating loss of A$5.8 million at its factories in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, and that it was not ruling out the full-scale closure of its Glenbrook plants.
