Australian iron ore company Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) has decided to decarbonise its operations. After the decision, the company will invest USD 6.2 billion by 2030. Another plan of the company is to decrease CO2 emissions by 3 million metric tons per year to reach zero terrestrial emissions.
FMG will implement a large part of its investments between 2024 and 2028. This includes 2 to 3 gigawatts of renewable energy generation and battery storage, and a fleet of green mining trucks and trains.
