According to Taiwan Customs statistics, Taiwan's rebar exports increased by 9% compared to the previous month in December 2024, reaching 7,235 tons. 6,987 tons of these exports were made to Australia, making it a major market. In 2024, Taiwan exported a total of 33,373 tons of rebar, achieving a remarkable 88% annual growth. Australia played a crucial role in this surge, receiving 27,504 tons, a 135% increase compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, December’s rebar imports reached 431 tons, primarily sourced from China, which supplied 396 tons.
Taiwan's H-beam exports increased by 15% in December, reaching 2,615 tons. The countries with the most exports were New Zealand with 849 tons, Malaysia with 688 tons, and Australia with 503 tons. However, total H-beam exports in 2024 decreased by 4% compared to the previous year, falling to 41,350 tons. Despite this, Australia continued to be Taiwan's largest export market, increasing by 46% to 24,234 tons.
Taiwan's H-beam imports increased by 224% in December, bringing the total volume to 10,345 tons. Japan with 4,897 tons, Vietnam with 4,007 tons, and South Korea with 1,441 tons were among the main suppliers. Total H-beam imports in 2024 increased by 25%, reaching 116,743 tons. South Korea maintained its position as the largest supplier, supplying 55,463 tons, an increase of 35%.
