ArcelorMittal Poland has completed the modernization of blast furnace No. 2 at the Dąbrowa Górnicza plant. The modernization work started at the end of March this year.
With a total investment of more than PLN 720 million, a new cooling system and a modern blast furnace gas treatment plant were built, and the coal lining in the furnace hearth was also replaced.
Following the modernization, the company will reduce its annual electricity consumption by about 400 MWh and annual carbon emissions by about 45,000 tons.
The modernized plant will be operational for the next 15 years.
