According to the terms of the agreement, Sarralle will construct a turnkey, two-stage, 340-tonne plant with all auxiliary devices, gas treatment, water treatment, power supply and automation systems. Commissioning of the equipment is scheduled for September 2023.
As ArcelorMittal points out, the emergence of a crucible furnace in the French iron and steelworks will be associated with the creation of an electric arc furnace at Fos-sur-Mer where scrap metal will be used as raw material. This will reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
