ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih increased steel production in January

ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, a subsidiary of global steel producer ArcelorMittal, increased its steel production by 23% in January 2024.

Company increased its steel production by 23% in January 2024 compared to the previous month, to 76,000 tonnes. Overall, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih has shown steady growth in production of all types of products.

Thus, rolled steel production for the month increased by 26% compared to December 2023 up to 72 thousand tonnes. Meanwhile, in January 2023, the company did not produce steel and rolled products due to limited electricity supplies.
Iron ore concentrate production in January this year totalled 552 thousand tonnes, up 41% month on month and 66% year on year compared to January 2023. Coking coal output increased by 9% month on month and 77% year on year, to 85 thousand tonnes. Pig iron output totalled 149 thousand tonnes. This is 10% more than previous month and 2 times more than previous year.

The company's CEO Mauro Longobardo said that ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih is going to continue its work and in 2024 to increase the level of capacity utilisation from 30 to 50% by operating two blast furnaces.
ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih makes a significant contribution to the Ukrainian economy. The company is one of the largest steel producers in Ukraine with an annual production capacity of over 6,000,000 tonnes of steel.
