According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Türkiye's HRC imports in October increased by 28.88% compared to the same month last year, but decreased by 7.90% compared to the previous month to 298,157 tons.
The total import figure for the January-October period was 3,452,695 tons in the 9-month period of last year, while this figure increased by 5.8% to 3,652,285 tons in the same period of this year.
With the decision published in the Official Gazette in October, Türkiye imposed anti-dumping on HRC imports from China, Russia, India and Japan. Following this decision, imports from China, Türkiye's top HRC import destination, dropped by 27.98% compared to the same period last year and 33.89% compared to the previous month.
While there were no HRC imports from India in October, imports from Russia decreased by 72.65% yoy and increased by 340.18% mom. Imports from Japan, on the other hand, increased by 259.48%, while imports from Russia rose by 2.42%.
