Ansteel supplies iron rails to Algeria

China-based iron and steel company Ansteel (Anshan Iron and Steel) announced that it has supplied 18.7 kilometers of steel rails to Algeria for the One Belt One Road railway project in the west of the country.

Ansteel supplies iron rails to Algeria

Ansteel (Anshan Iron and Steel) is one of China's leading iron and steel producers and supplies various iron and steel products on a global scale. One Belt One Road (OBOR) or Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is a far-reaching infrastructure and economic integration project spearheaded by China. It aims to create new trade routes across a wide geography from Asia to Europe and Africa.

The steel rails supplied to Algeria will be used for the construction of a 575-kilometer railway from the Bechar province in western Algeria to the Gara-Djebilet iron ore region in the town of Tindouf. The completion of this railway will provide a stronger connection between Algeria's mining regions and ports and increase the country's export capacity.

Ansteel's supply of steel rails is expected to play an important role in ensuring quality and reliability throughout the project.
