Construction of the 256,000-square-meter plant in Sudair Industrial City aims to make Saudi Arabia a global hub for the export of high-quality steel structures.
With an annual production capacity of 100,000 metric tons of structural steel and 100,000 metric tons of pre-engineered buildings (PEB), the plant will cater to markets in the GCC, Africa, the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. This investment will contribute to the Kingdom's industrial diversification process in line with Vision 2030.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef emphasized that the plant will play a critical role in strengthening Saudi Arabia's export economy. Also present at the ceremony were Majid Al-Arqoubi, CEO of MODON, and senior executives from Alghanim Industries and Kirby Building Systems.
Mahmoud Samara, CEO of Alghanim Industries, stated that this facility will make Saudi Arabia a world-class steel structure exporter, and that the role in the global supply chain will be strengthened by increasing production capacity.
Kirby Building Systems has a total annual production capacity of 585,000 metric tons in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, India and Vietnam. The new Saudi facility will provide critical engineering solutions for large-scale projects such as warehouses, industrial complexes, distribution centers, oil and gas infrastructure.
Kutayba Y. Alghanim, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alghanim Industries, underlined Saudi Arabia's potential to become a global steel production center and stated that they are contributing to industrial transformation and expanding export capacity.
Equipped with state-of-the-art CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting and laser guided welding systems, the plant will deliver world-class steel structures, ensuring precision, durability and efficiency.
The investment will increase local employment and contribute to the development of expertise in engineering and manufacturing. Kirby Building Systems' expansion in Saudi Arabia will provide a significant boost to the Kingdom's sustainable industrial growth and competitiveness in the global market.
