Steel Design Alacero Architecture Competition Students aim to evaluate steel systems as part of construction systems.
The Latin American Steel Association (Alacero) has announced the winner of the 12th edition of the Steel Design Alacero Competition for Architectural Design Students. The announcement was made at the Latin American Steel Congress in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Brazilian architecture students Bruna Barbosa and Lino de Mendonça of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte won. Second place went to the group consisting of Abdia Agüero Pen, Sthefanie Corniel and Andcarlos Camilo, represented by Jorge Florián Vicente of Pedro Henríquez Ureña National University of the Dominican Republic. In third place were Diego Lacazette and Hugo Valenzuela of the Central University of Chile.
In addition, a group of students from the Tecamachalco College of Engineering in Mexico received the honorary award.
The theme of this year's competition was "Factory of Ideas and Innovation".
