Investment for this new facility started in 2022. With the products to be produced here, the company aims to save the country's economy from import dependency in this product group, of which Turkey is a net importer, as well as to become the leading brand in the global market.
According to the company statement, combining its automation experience with the production experience of its partner Tristar Steel in Romania, Akçelik has realized a total investment of 25 million euros with its foreign acquisitions and the fully automated chrome coated steel production facility.
New SPPs are on the way Emphasizing that the company has carried out feasibility studies to invest in an environmentally friendly and renewable energy source with solar power plants (SPP) projects, Yavuz Kılıç, CEO of the company, said, "As a result of this investment, we aim to further increase our competitiveness in both domestic and global markets by obtaining 75 percent of the energy used in production facilities and 100 percent of the energy used in Gebze Muallim Köy logistics and steel service center from solar energy."
