Sweden's H2 Green Steel is in talks with the Canadian government to build a mega green steel plant in northern Quebec.
The proposed project includes a green iron plant and a large electrolyser powered by renewable energy to power the project with hydrogen instead of coal. Under another plan, a full steel mill would be built, which would require 2,000 workers.
The 500-acre project is expected to cost €3-6bn.
H2 Green Steel has previously signed agreements with various steel suppliers and car manufacturers to supply green steel from its plant in Boden, Sweden.
