The Global Steel Summit, which was organized for the first time last year and attracted great attention, brought the main issues of the sector to the table with a wide participation this year. The summit is an important platform that brings together suppliers of raw materials such as iron ore, scrap, coal and steel mills.
The main speakers on the first day of the event included Dr. Mohamed Al Jeaidi, Director General of the UAE Steel Producers Committee, B.S. Shetty, Treasurer of the Steel Producers Committee, Su Changyong, Deputy Secretary General of the China Iron and Steel Association, Nikunj Turakhia, President of the Indian Steel Users Federation, Dr. Gunther Voswinckel, President of the International Pipe Association and Kamel Djoudi, Secretary General of the Arab Iron and Steel Association. The speeches will focus on topics such as the China and Southeast Asia steel market, the Indian steel market, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) steel market, Turkey and the European steel market.
Following the presentations, panels will be held on the status of the hot rolled flat steel, long steel products and coated flat steel markets. The panels will discuss the future of trade, demand scenarios, market dynamics and challenges.
Leading price intelligence firms and other experts in the sector will provide analyses on the global steel market. In addition, topics such as the Red Sea freight problem, upcoming projects in the TRNC and the demand for steel from these projects will be discussed. In-depth discussions will be held on the risks, demand and supply chain for steel products in MENA and globally.
