Global Pipe Company, a subsidiary of Saudi Steel Pipe, announced that it has received an order from Saudi Aramco worth approximately 910 million Saudi riyals (USD 243 million). The order covers the supply of Longitudinal Submerged Arc Welding (LSAW) pipes for the Accelerated Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) center project in Jeddah in the Eastern Province.
According to the company's stock exchange statement, the duration of the contract may extend up to 15 months.
In December 2024, Aramco signed a partnership agreement with the world's largest industrial gas company Linde and oilfield services provider SLB to build one of the world's largest carbon capture and storage centers in Jubail with the giant carbon capture project.
The first phase of the project aims to capture and store 9 million metric tons per year (MMtpa) of CO₂ from Aramco's three different natural gas plants and other industrial sources. This phase is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2027.
